About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Supported Housing Team to undertake the post of Mobile Support Worker on a part time basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive and reliable housing support service for our tenants of sheltered accommodation. This includes emergency response to calls from the community alarm service for frail, elderly and disabled tenants and residents.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with an elderly client group in a supported housing or similar environment. You will have good communication skills and be able to show empathy and compassion in sometimes challenging situations. You will also be a good problem solver and be flexible and adaptable to change.

The service covers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and you will be required to work within a 5 week rota that covers 4 on calls (8pm – 8am) and the following shift pattern.

Week 1         9-3 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday

                     12-5 Saturday and Sunday

Week 2         9-3 Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday

                     8-1 Friday

Week 3         4-8 Monday to Friday

Week 4         9-3 Monday to Friday

Week 5         9-3 Monday to Friday

What will you be doing?

The role is to support tenants to remain independent in their own home. We provide practical,  housing support to our tenants from dealing with property condition, to help with benefits and medical referrals. Whilst we do not provide personal care, we may complete referrals for social care support.  

About you

You will be a caring, compassionate individual that wants to promote independence and ensure that tenants have the tools to remain in their own home for as long as possible. Some IT skills are essential, as well as a positive attitude and a driving licence.
